ConnectMate gathers information such as names, job titles, employer details, work addresses, emails, and phone numbers primarily to offer its services. This data is not sold but may be shared with partners aiding in service delivery. Occasionally, additional information from third-party sources like LinkedIn may be collected.

ConnectMate has a legitimate interest in understanding how members, customers and potential customers use its website. This assists us with providing more relevant products and services, with communicating value to our sponsors and corporate members, and with providing appropriate staffing to meet member and customer needs.

Data Transfer to the U.S.

ConnectMate, with its headquarters in the United States, processes the personal information it collects within the U.S. By utilizing ConnectMate's services, users acknowledge that their personal data will be handled in the U.S. Although the United States has not been granted a status of "adequacy" under Article 45 of the GDPR by the European Union, ConnectMate ensures the protection of personal data by implementing binding, standard data protection clauses. These clauses are enforceable for data subjects in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom and are in line with the recommendations of the European Data Protection Board. These will be updated to reflect the new draft model clauses once they are authorized.

In certain situations, ConnectMate may also transfer personal data to the U.S. This transfer occurs with the user's consent, to fulfill a contract, or to pursue a legitimate interest of ConnectMate, ensuring that such interests do not override the rights and freedoms of the individuals. ConnectMate is committed to applying appropriate safeguards to maintain the privacy and security of personal data, using it in a way that is consistent with the user's relationship with ConnectMate and the practices outlined in this Privacy Statement. Additionally, ConnectMate engages in data processing agreements and model clauses with its vendors, as applicable and suitable. Since its inception, ConnectMate has not received any requests for information from the government.

Protocols for Data Storage and Retention

ConnectMate stores your personal data on its own servers and on those of the cloud-based database management services it utilizes, all of which are located within the United States. ConnectMate maintains service-related data for the duration of its business relationship with the customer, and beyond this period for purposes of data analysis related to ConnectMate’s operations, as well as for historical records and archiving linked to its services. Data pertaining to potential clients is kept until it is deemed to no longer hold business relevance, after which it is removed from ConnectMate’s systems. Any personal data under ConnectMate's control can be deleted upon a validated request from the data subjects or their authorized representatives.
